What is WDJ Media?
My name is Wendell Davis Jr. and I am the owner of WDJ Media. I am a visual artist with a passion for photography, writing, and traveling. WDJ Media is currently based in Chicago, Illinois and specializes in many art mediums such as sports and nature photography, writing/poetry and freehand art.
MY STORY
Growing up in Richmond, Virginia everyone knew me as an athlete. I excelled in many sports such as baseball, football and I even have a black belt in tae-kwon-do. It was at an early age where I developed my passion for art and if I wasn't on the field then I was either drawing or creating something. The passion that I have for art was more of a hobby because I was an athlete first. It wasn’t until high school when someone other than my parents encouraged me and made me believe that I could turn this hobby that I have into something bigger. This lead me to continue my art journey through college due to my supportive parents and my art teachers from high school.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in December of 2021 with a B.A. in Media and Professional Communications and was a three-year letterman on the football team as well. Throughout my time at Pitt I took a variety of art courses ranging from photography, sculpture, drawing studio, and a visual thinking course. I am currently enrolled in the School of Professional Studies at Northwestern University while also being a student-athlete.
I am a firm believer that in life we must chase our dreams and do something that we are passionate about. Just like any college athlete my goal is to chase my childhood dream of playing professional football. This website is here to show that I am more than an athlete and that it’s time to show my “little hobby” to the world!
